OK i am going to do a beely-up on a YJ. I need to fab a tranny mount. As you know on a YJ the tranny mount is about 3.5" tall. I want to elimate this and try to leave the tranny in its current location and just raise the skid plate.
I was thinking about an outrigger style, but i am not sure about the strength. Something like this....

I know its a sad little sketch. I was thinking about 3/8"plate bolted directly to the tranny and 1 x 1 box for the rest, and using poly bushings betweent he mount & skid plate.

Any thoughts, ideas, pics??? I already have a body lift and MM lift. I will trim the tunnel if i have to.

What tranny do you have? If it is a Peugot then ther is not much you can do. I think the ax-5 and 15 metal plate can be reworked so the mount for the poly bushing is higher. Not sure what the auto looks like. I had pics of the cusom one I made for my belly up, but they are lost on Photocrap. I don't think I will be able to take another good pick unless I drop the pan. Sorry.

Here is how I did mine, I used 2x2x3/16" square tubing and made a \_/ shape out of it and welded plate to the bottom. I plan to get some thick wall 1x2 and a thinner t-mount bushing and try to raise mine an inch or so, but with the NV4500 its gonna be tricky.
