I have my NP231 clocked level in my YJ and am unsure how much fluid I should have in it. Will it hurt to fill it to the top of the hole or should I only run the same amount of fluid that should be in it stock? Right now I have about 2 1/2 courts in it, it would probably take another 2 courts to fill it to the fill hole.
2 quarts  . Maybe another quart, tops. You will be fine filling it to the fill hole...

Yeah, because the FSM tells you how much fluid to put in a clocked tcase . Not everyone was born knowing how much fluid to put in a non-stock application.
Luckily, with my flip kit for my D300, there was a note to use 2 quarts. I would imagine somewhere near 2qts is probably good.

I know that with the D300 if you overfill it it will blow any extra fluid, I dont think that the 231 will do that. I will just stick with what is in there now, Thanks for the reply.
Edit:
To anyone complaining on this topic:
I originally found nothing while searching and even posted this in the noob forum with no results.

Steve- I'd hardly consider this a newb question, a stock case- ok but once you rotate one it's a good question and no factory manual addresses this. Anyone going to the trouble of rotating a t-case, especially a 231 which is pretty flat to begin with is not a newb. Sometimes people look at post counts and make assumptions.
I'll confirm than you should run the same amount of oil as in the stock location, 300 or 231. Believe it or not, some guys clock a 300 lower, then you need to add more fluid so it will still splash it's way up hill.
