Smash-K20 04-13-2004, 06:14 AM If that does'nt work I have them on my computer, just PM me and I'll e-mail them to you. There to big to post.
blacksheep10 04-13-2004, 11:37 AM Or you could just cut up some stock front rotor mounts and weld them on.

Thats caliber mounts, and i find the stock front ones too thin. I have welded them on the back before but I reinforce them with atleast 1/4 plate, adapters that are made from scratch I use atleast 3/8 plate.

Actually thats CaliPer mounts :flipoff2:
Smash-K20 04-13-2004, 12:28 PM We just got around to identifing the correct part and you expect us to be able to spell it correctly? Whats next, punctuation? Correct grammar? Where will it end?

blacksheep10 04-13-2004, 02:35 PM Yeah, I meant caliper mounts, but typed it wrong. They aren't too thin if you kick them over to the axle with 2 pieces of 1/4" plate. Then they aren't going anywhere
the caliper mounts in the link DO NOT work without a ton of grinding for chev front calipers
maybe they work with the caddy's but they definitely do not fit chev truck front calipers
where the cutout is needs to be much larger
SCOTTS_4X 04-13-2004, 06:39 PM have you cut them out and tried them mj? because it looks liek there is ebough clearance in the picture the guy has with the caliper right there.
-Scott
yup
I had them cut to an image I got from that thread
I had to grind a lot to get a caliper to fit
unless the link has already been updated it needs to be opened up a fair bit
http://www.axxustech.com/jeep/caliperplates.jpg
these are like the ones I cut only I made them as a weld on version
caliper doesnt clear
the cut out that is on a IIRC ~4" diameter is too small
had to grind it back to the vertical cuts
easy to change in the drawing prior to paying a laser cutter
a PITA to grind out afterwards
simply compare it to all the ones for sale on ebay and you will see the difference
stan79chevy 04-13-2004, 11:35 PM http://www.home.earthlink.net/~jabbott123/images/14ff-caliper-v0.5
i need to know what size all the holes are and if that spacing is right for the chevy calipers and not the caddy ones
that is the exact drawing I started with
needs to be modified for caliper clearance
stan79chevy 04-14-2004, 12:31 AM the guy who is making is said he was going to use a "bridge port "and a drill press and he needed to know what size the holes are going to be the drawing i have only shows locations.
mj how much clearancing needs done? 1/4 inch per side? are the holes for the calipers in the right spot?
i dont have any of the parts yet to measure anything. im getting laid off at the end of the month and just want to gather up all the parts i need to fix my truck so i have something to do
I had mine done on a laser cutter
the holes are all in the right spot
the clearancing is more like 3/4" on each corner, so 2 spots per bracket
basically the vertical line needs to come much lower as the caliper casting bulges there
Smash-K20 04-14-2004, 04:58 AM I had to trim mine there too. Just maybe 1/4 - 3/8 an inch. Since I just traced them out and cut them with the plasma I assumed it was my error and not an error with the drawing. But I guess it was the drawing.
Charly 04-14-2004, 08:32 AM or you could just call A&A Mfg. and order their weld on caliper brackets for under $7 each, and they are right in Michigan. I bet you'd have them already.
what rotors do they fit?
a&a stuff is usually stockcar related
