I'm looking to swap in a diesel engine into my truck. My question is what trannies can I run behind either a VT365 or a T444E (both internationals obciously)? Is an np 435 an option?

you can run any manual behind a diesel. some are just harder to mate than others.

Yeah I know adapters are out there. I'm looking for manuals that will bolt straight up to the engine.

Basically anything from the Ford repetoire.

Ford T-19, ZF, Getrag's, NV4500's, NV5600's......

You could take a page from International, and use Allison transmissions, or possibly even a Fuller box. Lots of Allisons in School Buses.

The key is you have to have a trans that was behind any of the International V-8 Diesels offered to Ford to begin with (several have integral bellhousings), or have the right bellhousing in the case of the T-19, or NV****.

None of this should be hard to find, but may cost you $$$.

The first rule of Diesel..... it ain't cheap.
