THanks! cruiserbrett 01-10-2002, 09:30 AM The splines are the same for all transfercases up unitl '78. Should be a ten spline(IIRC) on the front output. The flange pattern from sometime in '74 changed to a larger rectangular pattern. If the '74 has ujoints with the c-clips outside the bearing cups the flanges should work. If it has the style with the c-clips inside, by the seal on the caps it will be the larger, later style flange and wont be comaptible. HTH 4Cruisers 01-10-2002, 10:06 AM The front transfer case flanges and the pinion flanges are the same. The larger flange/driveshaft bolt pattern started with the 4-speed Land Cruisers. The pinion flange splines went from coarse to fine in 1/78, so the early '78 models still had coarse splines.
