I got one for free, and works good :D
But I've been surfing around trying find out how much it weighs... It has the remote plug-in in the front-top-center and on the discription plate it says,"12V, model 8274, and a cable streignth of 8000lbs." The cable had no real signs of use, real clean, no burs, or kinks...I've never had a winch, so I can only tell you what I see....

1) I was curious on the weight? The newer 8274 50 is 110lbs...I would think it's close to that.
2) If I put it on my runner, should I take any special precautions???
3) Is it worth the effort?

Same shape/design as the 8274 50...

Awesome winch, I have an 80's vintage one on my Jeep. They'll last forever, are rebuildable, and are definitely worth the effort if you don't mind the high profile.

If you don't want it, I'll take it off your hands for my wife's 4Runner.

Yeah, they're heavy! 110 sounds about right.

Those are great winches from what I've read. Plus the price was right. :D Kinda tough to mount on a toy and still get enough airflow. A few have done it though with no problems. If you can make it fit, you should be more than happy with it. FWIW, my HS9500i weighed in at 90~ according to the UPS label.

one moreQ. Would it be possable to put one of those new 6lb cables on it that Allpro sells? Would that lighten it up enough to make any sort of difference?...for the price...

LOL....No, i'm not fat. :D

Well, I guess I just added yet another project to my- gears, lockers, on-board air, and merlin adapter that's already sitting on my bench...

It has a mount plate on it, so a bumper will go a bit quicker.....

Thanks

Its fasters than an HS9500 in most cases. They are an industrial spur gear design so don't worry about wearing it out. Mines about 20 years old and still works like new.
