I disassembled the LT85 from my 1990 110 to fix a loud roaring noise. The input shaft bearing seems to be the culprit, it feels a bit rough and makes a slight noise when spun by hand.
I'm having a hard finding a replacement bearing.
Does anyone have an internet source for looking up bearing numbers and interchanges between manufacturers?
This one is made in Spain and maybe by "IR" or "IRB" it's hard to read. I've got the numbers if someone has an interchange site.
I've already talked to George at RDS but he has nothing for the LT85.
Thanks,
Mike

Transmission bearings can be really hard to find outside of LR. I know that there are a couple in a Series box that I've never been able to match up. I've had good luck ordering weird stuff for my 110 from DAP and Rovers North. I've got a parts book if you need the LR number.

I haven't tried DAP but RN told me they don't stock anything for the LT85 but they could order it from the UK.
I just got a return email from Blanchard in the UK and they have the gasket set and the fifth gear stake nut I need. I didn't know about the bearing when I wrote them a couple of days ago.
The cheap bastard in me wants to buy the bearing here if possible. The gasket set and nut are 20 pounds and shipping is 33 pounds.
Thanks for the help, and if you can get the PN I would appreciate it. The transmission is a 22C.

Take it to a bearing store. They should be able to find something.

i second that notion. dig up a bearing supply store in the yellow pages and take the part down with you.

Yep, the bearing store is my first stop after work. And I'm hoping this bearing isn't an oddball.

FWIW I heard that Maxidrive had a bearing upgrade for LT85 used with Isuzu 4BD1. I don't know what it entails.

I went to Bearings and Drives yesterday and found a replacement for the factory input and output bearing.
An SKF 6308NR is dimensionally identical replacement although it has eight ball bearings instead of six.
