HELP

What is the easiest way to ID a D300 Trans case that is out of a vehicle?

It will look like this.

Front

Side

Rear

Thanks

Should it be easy to tell the diff between it and a Dana20?

Their pretty similar...

Heres an easy way to figure out... (this is on a 20 btw)

Scout 300s have the Texas pattern! :flipoff2:

EDIT:
BTW A aluminum rear output is 300 only and the quickest way to spot them.

Scout 20's have tx pattern, Eb's have round pattern.

Well then how the hell do I decipher the different cases. I need one to go in my CJ. I would prefer one out of a CJ also.

Look at the first pic I posted, the front view. See the *silver* part on the case at
the right side ? See the round 6 hole pattern ? That tells you it's a Jeep D300.
The Jeep D20 will have a hole pattern that looks like this pic.

also, the scout 300's have the speedo cable on the pass side, while the scout 20's were on the drivers side

Why? The scout D300 is a bolt on T-case for a CJ , plus a 300 kicks ass on a 20!
