Well it's a 1999 Dodge Dakota. Can anyone give me a clue to idenitfy it. It was manufactured 1/99 cover plate measures 101/2" x12" , the cover has 10 bolts and there is an eight digit number on it 52069336. I also have the vin if that helps?
Give me a hand
If the axle tubes neck down between the center section and the backing plates and the cover looks like a polygon it's a 9 1/4, if the axle tubes stay the same diameter all the way across and the rear cover is oval it's an 8 3/8s.

I am pretty sure that the 10 bolt ones are a 8.25", the 12 bolt ones are 9.25". An easy to tell is to open your hood and rear the build sheet on the underside of the hood... mine reads,
Corperate 9.25" 3.55 Gears
most read
Corperate 9.25" 3.55 Gears Sure Grip (because of the Posi.)
Now, I think it is there on the dakota too.. just look.. that is where it is on my ram.. hope I helped. Garrett

Just a quick question, how wide are axles from a Dakota?
