:( I was test fitting a Scout II steering box on my FJ45 frame and thought to myself... hey, you know if this thing on the bottom of the box weren't here, I could clear the flange of the shock tower, so I got out the port-a-band and well, that's a fluid passageway. SO- now I have to figure out if it can be saved or if I ruined it with my mistake. I should have taken a break and thought that if Saginaw put it there-it was probably for a good reason and I shouldn't be cuttin' it off. So then, in a fit of further stupidity, I decided to take the box apart and see if it could be welded or brazed or something- now I have the loose balls running around on the work bench, I can't remember how it all goes back together- so I'm thinking I should look for another gear box and throw this one in the metal scrap and remember next time to not work with so much beer in my head. Any thoughts? Anyone know where I can find another box without costing an arm and a leg? Thanks, Luke :(

Maybe you could use the same advertiseing method on E-bay that this guy used: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2389286139

He certanily was honest.

Good Luck LukeZero. If you have any doubt about damage, its best to replace or fix the problem.

You need a tee shirt with the acronym WTFWIT

Scrap it, find another one, Binder Board is a great place.

I got a scout box. Paid $50 for it. I'll sell it to you for $20 + shipping. Email or PM me and I can get a pic if you're interested. I feel your pain. Had some popping from the left front, assumed I had busted my longfield since it's ringed and I wasn't running any steering stops. Ordered a couple more longs, 1 for a spare. Pulled it apart today, longfield is fine, pulled the other side and diff, lockright is fubar'd. Nothing like two pair of longs I guess.

Wow! That E-bay auction made my day. You can always count on the PBB to give you some good quality entertainment.
