I have an 84 truck 4 in lift, 33's, 4.88's, detroits ft. and rr., the front axle has been moved 1 in. forward, it also has a 4 in. drop drag link. when the front left tire falls of into a ditch it gets very hard to turn left. on the street everything is fine. ???

Your drag link is binding, your luckey it is not breaking the "J" arm. The answer is x-over steering!!!!:D :usa: :D

It may not be binding, next time it happens, get out and look. See if there is adequate clearance and parts can move freely. If they can, it may just be the steeper angle on the drag link, left wheel down puts the drag link at a pretty steep angle, and when you are pulling forward on the steering arm, so trying to make the angle even steeper. Moving the axle forward makes the angle steeper yet.
The dropped drag link helps with the angles at the ends to cut down on binding, but it won't help the overall angle. One way to help there is flip the ball on the steering arm to the top.
