Made the mistake of buying beedlocks with factory backspacing. Would like to go out farthur without modifying the wheels. Are spacers a good idea? Are they weak? How hard is it to change the lug bolts?

Don't really know much about them since I don't have any, but out of curiosity what backspacing did you get and why do you think it was a mistake?

I like to haul ass in the wash and i feel i'm too narrow to make quick turns. Whatever factory backspacing is is what i got. Eventually i'm goint to chevy d44 front and 14 bolt rear but probably not for a year or so.

Yeah, I hear you on the narrow-ness......I am trying to figure out what I am going to do in the same deparment.......I want new rims with different spacing, but if I go with different axles anytime soon, I am probably going to have a different lug pattern then so I am thinking I should probably wait a little while.......

well, I have spacers on my truck, and several of my friends have them as well...got them from Performance Wheel and Tire here in Denver. They are machined aluminum, bolt to the hubs with alternating lugs pressed in(so you don't have extra long studs). I'm told it effectively acts like a different backspaced rim. I have no idea if thats true or not. I have been told that it puts extra stress on wheel bearings and such, but doesn't most every other modification we do? I dunno, I've had them for over a year and I've noticed a difference in stability, so they're staying. Of my friends, the longest pair have been on for about 4 years now, no related problems. They are a bit expensive, about 250$$ a set.
