Is there any companies making beefy diff covers for Land Cruisers? I am looking for a weld on diff guard for the front and a bolt on for the rear.

ConFerr makes what they call a SuperSkid Diff Guard. I think this is a link to it:

Try Butch Built, (707) 257-3454. He calls em Pumpkin Hats & they are the toughest things I've seen

I agree. I had on my FJ40 when I had the stock axles. Well built and cool looking.

Pipe caps are the best/cheapest. 3/8 in. thick. Mine have taken a POUNDING.

Doesn't look like Marlin's will work for anything but 8" ring gears

I just bent a peice of 1/4" peice of steel over the ring gear part of the housing kind of like marlincrawlers cover and it worked great. I will try and get some pics up sometime. It isnt anything special but it looks pretty good and is very functional.

If my memory hasn't failed me, I got these diff gurads from Scott. I've been very happy with them, although I wish the tubing was solid bar.

Jumped on the link to Scott's site. Guard looks purdy, bling bling and spendy. Here's a pic:

I have one. It will fit an LC but will take some "adjusting" Still need to put it on but I got the D60's on the ground.

When I use the pipe caps I cut off the original cover and weld the cap in place. That way theres nothing for mud/debris to get caught in. Weld in a fill plug and you're done. Smooth as a baby's ass and tough as a sledgehammer all for about $25 bucks + 5 for the plug fitting at your local industrial plumbing supply. Heres a pic of a rover axle I did with the 10" cap:

Nice pics guys...i have been searching on here and there hasn't been much info on the pipe cap for LC diffs...

One thing i haven't found is a good cheap source for them...you can get 8in from McMastercar.com for mini's but no 10s...i emailed Butch and got no response from him...emailed another guy in Ca. No response...i am temped to just build my own now that i am out of work and have the time and materials but not the $$....anyway and online source would be great for these if anybody has found one....
