Put a new fuel pump in last week (aftermarket Britpart) and the MPG went from 9 to 7.5
No leaks, any clues? Truck runs fine otherwise. 93 4.2 BTW.

something is waaay wrong there. the wifey's '93LWB with 4.2 gets ~14mpg even at 206,000 miles
stupid question, but what exactly have you done in the way of tune-up? size of tires, weight you are carrying? is timing advanced etc??

I've never had more than 10mpg out of it even stock. C&D tested the LWB at 10mpg when it came out so I wasn't worried. 14mpg is good.
105k. Plugs, wires, cap, rotor and spark amp are all a few months old. 32" tires, 3 inch lift, steel bumper, winch, roof rack, usual crap. I set the timing myself with a strobe, 4 marks to the left of the 12 (8 btdc?). It's been running great 'til the fuel pump died.
OS, would too low or too high (which one) a fuel pressure cause excess fuel consumption?

Too high of pressure for the pulse width of the injector will cause extra rich conditions and poor gas mileage.

Thanks, I'll check it.

Would this cause it? :emb2: (vacuum hose to fuel regulator)
