: Where to find an XJ Body/Frame
SMART ASS 01-10-2002, 08:36 PM Im working on a new project, and want to know where to find a decent Wheelable XJ body and frame with interior, i have a motor, transmission, tranfercase, and axles... plan on running 38's
thanx yall!!!
Alaska ZJ 01-10-2002, 09:26 PM You do know that they are Unibody Right? Lots of XJ guys on the JU board they might be able to help you out.
MKBruin 01-10-2002, 10:39 PM how much are you looking to spend?
I'll sell you my MJ for under $2500 and they are easier to work with because teh bed isn't attached to the unibody (it actually has a frame there)
SMART ASS 01-11-2002, 10:45 AM Maybe i wasnt so clear the first time.....

And maybe alaska ZJ wasnt clear when he said "You know XJ's are unibody right?" XJ's don't have a frame, good luck finding one!
XtremeGod 01-11-2002, 11:39 AM Maybe he just doesn't speak good English and really does mean XJ body w/unibody.
But if you really do mean body on steel frame than you are retarded.
SMART ASS 01-11-2002, 11:41 AM Ok, then what do the spring hangers bolt to? what does the engine motor mounts bolt to? what to the bumpers mount to? where does the transmission crossmember bolt to? the BODY?????????

Well, my guess is, you just typed it out, and didnt realize what it sounded like when you read it. Sounded to me like you were looking for the FRAME of an XJ, along with the body. And All I was saying was that you arent going to find that. You will find the "frame" connected to the body however.
SMART ASS 01-11-2002, 11:46 AM For the detailed people:
I am lookig for a XJ BODY/FRAME
W/INTERIOR
NO AXLES
NO TRANSMISSION
NO XFER CASE
NO NO DRIVELINES
:rasta:
SMART ASS 01-11-2002, 11:48 AM Cant be credable without being critical, jesus, cant even fart the wrong way on the Jeep section w/o gettn shit...

Hey Smartass:flipoff2:
Little cranky today! Have a bad day manning the front gate? LOL Or did you get chewed out by the Generals Old lady?
Really no worries man, I thought you were mis informed about the frame situation. And MKBruin I think was also seeing how he offered you his MJ.

muddyxj 01-11-2002, 12:58 PM youd think you could find a stripped out xj at a boneyard, i duno many people that have a xj just sitting in the driveway with no engine, axles, TC tranny, etc...
If i remember correctly J&W is getting rid of all thier XJs i think
Steve N 01-11-2002, 06:43 PM Call here 707-863-8377 on tuesday, not monday (too busy) Ken one of our counter guys knows of one for damn near free. I think it's in Dixon.
And funny enough it's a stripped out body sitting in someones side yard.
To bad Wisconsin is so far from you. I have a '95 that I'm taking my 4.0, klune, and atlas out of. I'm hoping I can find a buyer for whats left...
whatdaphuk 01-12-2002, 12:41 PM uhh, just a thought....JUNKYARD!!!!!
Beezil 01-13-2002, 08:28 AM Hey Tim, maybe we need to talk serious here.....
maybe my price could easily be re-worked on a swap-for-swap basis eh???
there's a lot of stuff that honestly, I know I'll never use, I was figuring on ebay-ing a lot of stuff to make some cash for the xj project....but the more I think of it, maybe there's a few things we could end up trading even-ups?

:flipoff: whats this JU bs, I tried on some 38.5 x 14.5 15's on yesterday, and would you believe they would work, and if I put a 1" bump stop in the front the rubbing would be minimul.
here is my junk, presently running 35x12.5 16 ssr's and the remodel project going on, cut the back roof off, extended the wheel base to 106.5" :flipoff2:
