: NIGHTMARE Towing setup
Bones 04-19-2004, 05:31 AM Sw this last weekend in Disney, OK. 80's 4runner on 36's and being towed by an S10 with the sport suspension that lowers it. On top of that, no reciever hitch, just a bumper pull.  :smokin:
Oh yeah, looked like they used standard 1.5" ratchet straps on the rear as well. :shaking:
I asked how far they had to go, figuring it was just to get him to town since he had a broken leaf. "Fayetteville, Arkansas...pulls it all the time!" That's only 2 hours by way of twisty turning roads

It is amazing, but similar to those who think it takes a 1 ton to pull a bumper trailer and a zuki :p

At least they are safe. This cats setup is downright retarded. :grinpimp:
TornadoTJ 04-19-2004, 06:36 AM Dude, did they tow it home with the ramps just laying on the trailer deck?
Bones 04-19-2004, 06:40 AM Would that surprise you? I can't say for sure, I left in the other direction. All the 4runer had was a broken leaf, he could have at least driven it out of that particular area and got it loaded up. It isn't exactly a smooth ride from the rockgarden to the main road.
Alaska ZJ 04-19-2004, 07:18 AM that sucks because it could easily be your wife and kids that he kills with that setup. oh well the world is over populated anyway......
KS Toy 04-19-2004, 10:28 AM Sweet  Hey Chris, was the comp any good?

Yeah it was a lot of fun. To many spectators and not enough competitors IMO, but I can't talk smack in any way, I just watched :(
ScottFJ40 04-19-2004, 11:36 AM I hope that doof is into assplay, because I see a 4runner up his ass in his future.
Jrod-13 04-19-2004, 11:38 AM atleast he has enough tongue weight.. :shaking:
mikesimpson 04-19-2004, 12:28 PM Oy, that is so wrong, that I wouldn't dare call it redneck and insult any of my redneck buds.

Joe... was that you going down the highway pulling the 3/4 ton with the Zuk? :D
For those of you NOT in Texas... The local auto auctions happen a couple times of month. The following morning you see all sort of junk pulling all sort of junk down I-35. Worst one I remember was a K-Car pulling 'burban. Didn't take a photo, but headed for the nearest off ramp with that convoy on the road!

wes
yep, my dad tows his camero to the strip every sat with his freakin 2wd 4cyl s-10. the 2.2 4cyl is a joke. and talk about absence of brakes. sheesh. he balances the car on the axel so the bed doesnt drag the ground...its not very safe. he thinks it is over kill that i bought an F350 to tow my toys.
GRMhick 04-24-2004, 03:06 PM Ya, my buddy used to tow his trailer w/buggy with his 4cyl s-10. On the bright side, it wouldnt do much faster than 40 up hills. But then, I bet that 4runner weighs more than his 1200lb buggy.
Oh well, now he has an esclade on 18's to tow with. Bling bling.
