I need to find a rear d44 from a scout. I need a center diff(are they all?) and I need the one that is 59.5" wide. Where should I look? Is that a scout width or is that the scout II width. I ahve seen some that are 65" and some that are the 59.9". Any particular years I should tell the junk yards when I call.

I dont know where to start. All i know is i need one as cheap as possible bc I need to have it geared. then fab it under my Heep.

The Scout II rears are 60" your going to have to live with the extra 1/2 inch. You want a rear from 72-80, I think in 74 they went to the larger rear brakes. Try Binder (http://www.binderbulletin.org) classifieds section.

Rear Scout II, WMS to WMS, is 58.5" and front Scout II is 60" WMS to WMS.

Are the frts. 60"? Do the Scout II's use a 297 U joint? Has anyone added 8 bolt parts to these? If so won't they grow to be around 62" wms?:smokin: Thanks

Hey Chief...your'e not my mother are you? Yes...I'm a Jeep guy but my friend has 2 IH's and just picked up a Scout II for the 345 to install in his dumptruck. He already gave me dibbs on the T case and anything else I want!!! Also remember...I check the want ads and can sometimes find missing Scout parts in the wilderness of S.E. Ohio and my old stompin grounds of E. W.Va. P.S.,....my first real wheelin' was in a Scout 800. Thanks....I hope.:rasta:
