: Diesel toy Q's
fullywrecked 01-10-2002, 10:12 PM Ok here it is I found-an 82 toy diesel 2wd P/U and was wondering how hard it would be to adapt it to a 4wd trans(w56 or R151f) just a thought because I can possibly get it for cheep. Any input on the specs and personal expierence would be nice. Thanks. And I already did a search on them and didn't get all the info I needed. :D
did ya ever think to look at the tranny model number on teh firewall of the diesel?? propbably not... remember those are the cast bellhousing styles and if it's a H series it's probably be the right thing
BTW, go check out clutch plates for the 2 of em just to see if they are close to teh same ;)
if your not to lazy to get off the couch that is ya :rainbow:

Dave What the hell does "it's probably be the right thing thing" mean? If I had the clutch out of the SOB I would check to see "teh" are the same. Dave I bet my couch has alot less ass hours than yours.

Oh ya Dave your a :rainbow:
so after all that was it a 2L 2lt, 3L ??????????
the early 80's trucks had the 1L Diesel.....
IMHO the highest quality engine of the L series
The only one with replaceable Cylinder liners......
The tranny that is attached to this engine was the L43 4-speed.
they use a two piece bellhousing/tranny arrangement ( basically an aluminum adapter ring on the engine that goes from the Toy engine pattern to a Round SAE style patern on the tranny......the Forklift-motor roots are showing here..... LOL
The tranny could be converted to a 4WD style using the mainshaft and tailhousing from a 22R version of this trans.
If you do this be sure to get the input bearing upgrade from Toyota.(this tranny seried had the bad oiling design flaw)
My Brother runs a turbo on his 1L in his Suzuki and it used to run away from my 22r powered Jeep on the freeway, there would be a little black smoke until the Turbo got going and then he would just dust my ass.......

AIRZUKI 01-12-2002, 02:35 PM with me sitting in it , it weighs 1500 kilos on the highway scales.... 3300 lbs ........ and yes I can dust all of my buddies on the freeway....... all the while getting 45 MPG:D :D :D :D :D
fullywrecked 01-20-2002, 12:49 PM Does anyone know what kind of hp and torque they produce? The 1L that is.
