I keep hearing that a 42" bogger is going to be coming out, and I saw on a web site that the new Avalanche vehicle is going to be equiped with them. Is this true that such a tire is coming out?

It would be nice, especially if it was a 42" tire that was 15" wide :D:D:D

Maybe even 42x14 :p

I'd like it to be a 42x16.5 or something wider than 15". I always thought that the 42x15 Swamper looked to skinny. Chances are, the bogger would be wider than 15" since it is naturally such a wide tire. Maybe someone should send this thread to interco.

They already have the 44x16 or whatever it is. "Naturally wide"?!?!? Guess you've never seen a 38.5x11.

A 42x14 would be great! And with a DEEP tread like the 38.5x11.

I think a 14" or 15" is a perfect split with the curent 44x18.50 and the width of the 38.5x11 bogger...

To whoever said they always thought a 42x15 was narrow? huh?

I said it, bitch! :flipoff2: And I DO think they look too narrow, as do the 38x11's, which I have also seen! Boggers are meant to be wide. That's why the 39.5's aren't 39.5x15 like the regular Swampers are, IMO. Also why the 44's are 1" wider than the regular 44" Swamper. I will still buy the 42" bogger, if it turns out not to be a figment of someone's imagination, if it is 15" wide. Any skinnier though is just too skinny for a 42" tire.

Isn't the tire size limit for most of the comps 40" anyway, though? Wouldn't 42" still be too tall?

I would also like to see a 42" sx.... but I am not holding my breath... both would be VERY cool tires...

and as another note... the 44x18.5" tsl is a damn wide tire...I dont think that boggers are naturally wide, just have a more squared edge with a slightly more porturding tread... thats all.

Where I seen it at was on www.rockcrawler.com. If yah go to the main page there you will see the box that says spy photo's, and it says that the new avalanche rig is going to have 42" boggers, then I heard from another guy that Interco is going to start making a new tire, and I said is it the 42" bogger, and he said yah I think that was it.... So really it has not been confirmed by any Interco people....

Here is the official word from Interco:

TPI Jeep:

Thank you for your e-mail regarding the “42 inch Bogger.” Because we are very active in developing new sizes and types of tires and we have many phone call dialogues with off roaders about these subjects rumors get started. We have considered a 42 inch Bogger design but a final decision has not been made. There is a lot of work and expense in developing new sizes and we have to balance that with the production time available to us. If we do get into this size our best guess right now is that it will take about a year to get the job done, but as of this date we have not started anything on this size in the Bogger.

We appreciate your interest and want you to know we give careful consideration to the ideas and comments from the off roaders.

Thanks and best wishes,

Ally L. LeBlanc

Intrco kicks ass.

P.S. I'd like to place my order for a 37x14.50 (a REAL 37", not 35.4"). I really like the 35x14.50 - it just needs to be a little taller for my future Sammy/Toy hybrid.

The 4 seater ZLZ1 is the buggy that RockCrawler is talking about. We are actually running 38"x16x15 Baja Claws. We went for that tire size because the client wants the buggy very streetable. Without the Swamper wobble, however we have built the ZLZ1 to accept a 42 for the future. I don't know how they came up with Boggers, typing error I guess. It is now on its tires(38's), and is almost finished. Clifton

Why the hell is everybody so stoked on the bogger? They fawkin suck in the snow. I'll admit they're great in the rocks though. Summertime only wheelers?? 42" tsl's rock!

boggers suck in snow? are you crazy? they kick ass in snow. they suck on ice and hard packed snow ( basically ice), but in fresh snow they spank. i dont know were yah got that but i have been running boggers for years and they are great in the snow. oh yeah i live about 1/2 hour from buffalo so i do know what snow is. maybe you should try a set out.:flipoff2:

I have tried a set out. In fact I still have that set. For foreward progress they are ok, but why is it that every time we encounter a side hill in the snow (real often) I can drive right across and then turn around and winch my buddies with boogers out of the hole they slid into. Boggers SUCK for lateral traction in snow and some other slippery situations. I don't know about you but I don't enjoy sliding sideways into tree wells or creek beds. When I posted, I knew I'd get the response that they're great!! With a tsl you get all the bite, but not the sideways slip. This is just speculation because I've never run my 42" tsl's in the snow yet. I am currently still running my cepeks in the snow and boggers in the rocks. When I mount my tsl's I hope to sell my boggers and cepeks and only run 1 set of tires for all terrains.
oh yeah, I live 1 hour from the rubicon so I know what snow is!!!:flipoff2:

Oh ya, the 42s will be TSLs. I'am not that impressed with Boggers either for crawling.
