If this is too newb, I'll move it. Gonna weld my sliders to my xj, what settings on the welder have you guys used? I'm thinkin 1/8" 7018 DC, but how many amps??? The slider base is .25" plate.

Welding 1/4" plate to the XJ unibody is not going to be easy especially with an ARC machine...

I would bolt angle iron to the frame, then weld your sliders to that.
