I'm in the process of doing an SAS and drivetrain swap and i'm wondering about positioning the front axle. i dont have the engine tranny or tcase yet so i dont know exactly where the output for the front axle will be. is it ok to have the front pinion a little bit offset from the tcase output. i figured as long as the flanges are paralell it shouldn't be an issue, cause the ujoints dont know if they are flexing up and down or side to side, they just flex. also since its my front axle i'm not gonna be goin over 30 with the shaft turning so i dont think vibrations should be a huge problem. So is my thinking correct? or is it gonna be totally jacked? thanks.

it will be fine... a couple of inches wont matter front or rear.. a friend of mine is running a waggy (QT) rear offset 2-3 inches in the rear of his tj he does have vibrations but i think his are caused from 8" susp lift and only moving the rear axle back 2"

Same here - My Willys wagon had an offset rear axle and a Dana 20 xfercase. No problems at 70 MPH but then again I only had a 2" suspension lift.
