I want to swap in a a ford 8.8 out of an explorer. My jeep has abs and I have heard that the 8.8's have abs sensors. Is it possible to hook up the abs sensor to be able to maintain my abs?

ford 8.8's use a sensor atr the ring gear jeep uses one at each wheel.

If you were dead set on doing it probably the easiest way would be to take you existing jeep tome rings and machine them to press onto the 8.8 shafts. then drill a hole in the caliper bracket and mount your factory sensors within spec.

most people say that it stops better without abs anyways. I thought about setting an old D44 up with abs just because a bunch people told me it couldn't be done. then I found some other stuff to do.

where in Wdnvl?

DON"T DO IT!!!!!!!!!!! ABS is junk in my opinion. I have "ABS" its called 35"s on stock brakes. Actually the abs system failed in my ZJ and that caused my first and only car accident. Wheeling with ABS on, I'd hit a bump and the brakes would go to the floor but I would still be rollin.... I've been alot happier without the ABS

I will say this... makes for some scary high speed braking... but then I guess that could be expected~ ZJ 8" of lift 35"s on jeep width axles.

I know a guy who converted his 8.8 to ZJ style ABS, but it's so not worth it. If you have a rig where you're doing axle swap, I doubt ABS should be much of a concern for you anyways.

If you're dead set on using abs, you can get an 8.8 out of a lincoln Mark 7. It has disc brakes with the abs tone rings at each wheel. HTH.

Isn't that a 28 spline as opposed to a 31?
