HERE IS WHAT I KNOW IS WRONG

I was climbing a waterfall last fall and spun the splines on the front driveline. Doing so caused the yolk to crack the transmission housing. I have another tranny in the back of the cruiser waiting for installation (but no where to install it.) Needs new long-splined front driveline, but there is a short-splined spare.

Winch may need a new solenoid or the contacts may need cleaned. Winches out but not in all of the time. This winch has been used less than ten times

Tires still have tread but are worn.

One of the back brake calipers needs replaced and the line hooked back up. I might have an extra caliper in the back.

Someone broke the back passenger window (small one) out and I have a spare in SD if needed.

Most of these things are easy to repair if you have somewhere to work on them, but I built the truck in South Dakota and don’t have a garage here in AZ.

GREAT THINGS ABOUT THIS CRUISER

It wheels really good, great articulation-last scoredhttp:// at over 1000 on a twenty degree ramp. Built to Rock Crawl, the major work is already done for you. I have run many 4+ rated trails with this machine. I am not trying to fool anyone, this truck has been wheeled hard at times but it is still on its first set of tires.

The motor is really strong. I really don’t want to part with this truck solely because the motor makes my heart thump when I fire it up. I just crawled into storage tonight, hooked up the batteries and the motor fired right up, with ease and purred like a kitten.

I last drove it in Oct 2003 when I parked it in a storage unit and that has been its home ever since.

I have three landcruisers right now and have lost interest in keeping this vehicle up to date. I am currently fixing up my 1984 BJ60 and don’t have time to invest in the Crawler.

I have well over $20,000 invested in this truck not including time and feel that the $10,000 I am asking for it isn’t too much. I will consider all offers and feel that no offer is a bad offer. If trading is your option I would prefer a 4x4 pickup but would consider other offers like snowmobiles or other toys. Make me an offer and maybe we can work something out.

I will try and have some pics soon. I have to find some or dig it out of storage.

I am currently in Lake Havasu AZ and if you have any questions please call me at, 928-486-3278

Thanks, Sean

P.S.

Here are some other things that I want to mention.
----Aluminum Holley intake
----HEI distibutor and ignition
----Hurst Line Lock not B&M-Sorry

***These are older pics but they represent the truck and how it functions. There are a few more dent's and the front bumper doesn't look like that anymore. The front bumper has an front end roll bar and wraps around the front fenders a little. The winch is on a new platform incorporated in with the front bumper. The winch is also on a removable hitch system. Thanks for looking!

That looks like a nice ride, but I really need a truck to pull my toys to their playgrounds. I have too many toys and need to liquidate them. I am sure you understand.

I am curious about your ability to climb 4+ trails. I noticed your carb is a carter 500 however you said you were climbing a waterfall and you climb 4+ trails all the time. Hwo does that carb hold up? I have seen carter, edelbrock and Holley carbs all spit and spudder just running 3 trails. How have you modified it to not flood?

The Carter 500cfm was used to help eliminate the spit and sputter effect. Knowing that larger carberated motors like 600cfm, 750cfm and 800cfm, have a tendency to get too much fuel on angles, the 500 was installed on purpose, along with a fuel control valve that allows me to control the pressure of the fuel that gets to the carb. When I am running hard trails (during the air down) I turn the fuel pressure down to 1/2 to 1psi to eliminate splash over in the bowls. Granted with the smaller carb I don't get near the full potential of the motor, but that is a sacrifice I made to be able to put my rig on more extreme angles than most people with carberated motors. Only after long periods on extreme angle does the truck start to load up. Just long enough to put myself in positions that really put the truck to the test. Some that have left me fixing the rig on the trail, cursing, and some that have left looking back after I got through, thinking to myself, that was really F-cking cool. While I wipe the sweat off my brow.

I am not saying that it doesn't spit and sputter on extreme angles but I am saying that it does good enough to keep me from making the expensive jump to fuel injection, which I can't afford. I haven't seen a carberated truck that doesn't spit and sputter it an angle that it wasn't designed to run, but you can tweek the capabilities a little to make it run better than out of the box.

Most of the 4+ trails this truck has ran, have been in the Black Hills of SD. Which are medium bouldered creek bottoms with obsticals that rate 4 to 5, which you have to negotiate to get through. I am not fortunate to have been able to go to places like moab to drive trails that I intentionally built this truck for.

I wish I could show you more " BLING BLING " but there is a big crack in the case of the Tranny, which I don't have a place to swap it out. Otherwise I would out wheeling it, and I would take pics for you. Unfortunatly I don't have many photos of this truck which I regret because I am a photographer. But whenever I was wheeling it I was driving and it is hard to take pictures while driving. The few images that I do have are buried in storage and I don't have a clue where. Sorry!!!

Excellent! I will be getting a fuel regulator! I have a 600cfm with a 4x4 kit in it. The kit improved the performance tenfold however I noticed on long periods of steep climbs and off camber situations it still floods. I have to stay on the pedal to keep it clear and as you know that isn't always best when trying to SLOWLY climb over something. I think I will lower the floats a little more for less fuel in the bowls AND go to 1 psi.

One more question, do you run a fuel canister on your gas tank exhaust/breather? I have a vent tube coming from the gas tank to the engine compartment. I put my v8 in back in 98 and have been running the tube open in the engine compartment since. I did that instead of just plugging it to avoid vapor lock however I recently had a fire in the tranny due to excessive heat. I was successful in putting out the fire only because I always have an extinguisher and the fire department got to me in 10 minutes. As I was waiting with the hood open I remembered that open tube and worried the fumes would catch on fire and make the whole truck go up in flames. So now I have considered putting a Chevy canister on the system. Any thoughts?

I am running a metal racing dial style fuel regulator that is between the pump and the carb. It will control from 1/2psi to 5 1/2psi. On the street I run 3 1/2psi to help with fuel consumption, and when I am rodding around I turn it up to 5psi to keep from starving the carb.

Now with the fuel can, I have no imput. I run the stock system that came in the truck. I just set it up to work with the smallblock. I remember there was something different in the fuel system with hooking up the pump but I can't remember what I did. I think that I just blocked the overflow. I hope this helps.

Sean,
do you remember what brand your pressure reg is, or where you got it? I searched summit's website, and the lowest i found was a holley 1-4 psi reg. Any tips?

I am sorry for the late response. I have been out of town with no connection to the internet.

I think that the regulator that I bought may have been a holley. I will check if I can get to the storage shed in the morning. I do remember that the one I have works pretty good on 1psi but I prefer the .5psi on really tipsy stuff. I also am pretty sure that I bought at a Car Quest parts store. A-1 Auto parts in Rapid City SD. I have had this truck on its side against a pretty mellow embankment and was able to keep the motor running enough to drive out of the situation. I will post this message too. Good luck.

The fuel regulator that I am using is a Profuel regulator.

I am open to offers if someone is interested. $9,000 is just a starting point, I know that the body is beat but this truck would make a great start for a partial buggy. The parts are all there. Any feedback would be acceptable. Thanks
