Whats the deal on welding tub to the body and the frame? Particularly my rockers to the frame. I removed my rockers and replaced them with sq tube. I now would like to run DOM up from the frame and plate it.

This is a trail only Toyota with a signifigant amount of tube welded to the frame, but the cab is still on the original mounts.

The frame moves seperate from the body quite a lot which is why there are body mounts in the first place. If I'm just going to tie the two together, why are there such things as body mounts?

Does your square tube rockers have to be attached to the body? Can they just be welded to the frame to allow your body to move a little?

That is the question. Can they be attatched? Should they be atatched? Why or why not? I see it all the time on full tube rigs. They have very rigid frames that flex very little, and the suspension does all the flexing.

Yes, the sliders should be welded (or bolted) to the frame........

The body mounts esp the rubber part stop alot of road viberations from getting through into the cab and also let the cab and frame flex at a diffrent (but SMALL) rate............ When an internal cage is installed it had better be mounted to the frame. A popular way to do that is to sandwich the body between the tube from the frame and the internal cage with 1/4 plate.

Does that make sence?
