Well, Jim Cirbus (Red '94 D-90), Dale Knepp (Yellow '97 D-90) and myself made a little impromptu run up to Blowing Rock Saturday to run the Globe Trail. I had heard of it before, but had only been on the front part of it, and had never seen the entire trail.

It was a fun day, and the trail could be as hard or as easy as you wanted, depending on the line you took. Following are a few shots. Now, if it had been wet, it would have taken on a whole different personality. Overall, it was a great trip, and highly recommended.

The last shot is "The Rock", and while I'd love to say I made it, I didn't. THe front kept walking to the right, and I wasn't brave enough to hit it with enough momentum, so I backed down. :(

More pictures of Dale and some of Jim, but I'll have to wait 'til the film gets deveolped.

Almost forgot. Here's a picture of my co-pilot. Looks thrilled, doesn't she? :p

No Uwharrie  ? The Globe is a fun trail, nearly flipped over backwards on the middle hillclimb by the burnt car.

Greg,

What pressure are you running on the front tires? These Michelins can go to single digits without bagging...Seems that if you had a little less in the front you could have made it on the last pic (the rock, not the co-pilot)

Tis, is that past the rock? We never saw a burnt car.

Nadim, I never aired down, so I was still at 35 psi. The problem was there is a ledge about 2 1/2" tall to get on the rock. You have to "bump" it with your rear tires, and it kept pushing me to the right, which was making me uncomfortable. I know, I know, but it's a little unnerving when you can't see any ground when you look to your right.

No Greg, maybe the car is gone. It was a short hillclimb that had 3 options, the middle having a left turn halfway up. There is a good steep hillclimb after that rock though.
