Thinking about tube-framing the old fore-skinner. Figure if I'm going to go to the trouble of making a cage, why not make it the structural element to save a little weight and get the frame out from under there?

- Run the cage tubing through the firewall and to each and every body mount.
- Hang the engine and tranny from the cage.
- Have some holes in the body ready to drop down some spring mounts.
- Drop the frame from under the cage/body.
- Put some backing plates under the body mounts and bolt the body up to the cage.
- Weld in the spring mounts, and hang the axles.

Voila!

A guy gets a good idea about lifting his drivetrain and then goes extreme and lifts it all up into the passenger compartment! :) Sounds like a really cool idea, and lots of work but it would be lots of fun to see. Please take lots of pictures!!! :bounce2:
