I need some help.......I've got a 2000 Vortec V6 and am having trouble with the computer/harness. I've shipped the harness of to Injection Tech to have the things taken out that I don't need and we're having problems finding a wiring diagram that matches the computer that came with the engine. The computer only has 3 plugs rather than 4.

Have any of you folks see this or come across this?

Did it come with an manual tranny? My 98 vortec has 4 plugs, but a whole bunch of the wires go to the auto tranny.

The engine came with an automatic (4L60E) tranny.

I have the original PCM. I just learned that the 4th plug is built into the dash assembly so I'm going to trade in my PCM for another that has 4 plugs.

Call Fuel Injection Specialties (http://www.fuelinjection.com) in Texas @ 210-654-0774. They reworked my '98 Vortec 4.3 harness and computer. They did a great job also!!!!

Fuel injection specialties told me that for $150 they would delete the VATS from my computer. Several months later, I called them back cause it still would not run, and they said, since they had just changed ownership, they could not be held to what the previous owners had said, but that they did not even have the technology available to delete VATS.

I then sent the PCM to Ed wright automotive in Oklahoma. The engine runs sweet now...

I've hear that before about Fuel Injection Specialties. The good thing is if you get a PCM from a 96 or 97 vehicle then the VATS isn't a problem because it doesn't exist in the program. That same PCM will run motors from 1995 to 2001.
