My EGR valve is stuck open because of carbon buildup. What solvent should I use to clean out the carbon without damaging the valve. I tried a search but was thwarted by the 3 letter restriction. Thanks

I don't know about a solvent, but I used compressed air, and it all blew out...

I used a drill with a large bit to drill out the egr tubes since they were almost completely blocked up, then used a couple cans of carb cleaner to clean out the valve.
