Ok, I just pulled the f-head out of my old CJ; I’m going to put a new clutch in the old girl. Ant suggestions on the best place to buy the entire clutch kit. I’m looking at North Star Willys…… Also, there is one other thing, does anyone know if there is an Electronic Conversion kit out there for my f-heads points and distributor?
Thanks for any help fella's..... :flipoff2:

don't know about the clutch but I think pertronix might be your best bet for the distributor.

One time at work I had to try and find all the parts for one of those. We could get the clutch kit complete, it was a Sachs clutch. However, I couldn't find anyone who had the ring gear. So you should be in pretty good shape if that isn't torn up.

I looked for the petronix kit once. They had a listing in the book for the industrial motor (water pumps, etc.) but not the vehicle version. Probably the same but if I ordered it to try i had to keep it so I never did.

When I restified my 3A, I found a place called Krages. They have just about every thing you need for the clutch and everything else for that matter. I took my friction disc to a local shop and had the pads replaced. Everything else came from Krages and Turners.

I have a few sites you may want to visit:
Vintage Jeeps (http://www.vintagejeep.com/) Vintage Jeep Part's Site (http://vintagejeepparts.com/) And The Jeep's Site (http://www.thejeep.com/) (oops, just saw it above)
Good luck

Otherwise take the clutch into a clutch shop they can rebuild the springs and reline the disc, pretty simple any worn out parts they can ussually replace even on a 1 year only 1956 354 hemi powered 1 ton truck with 13.5" clutch setup. It's an option that is out there.
As to the electronic in the mid 90's there was a kit out there, cause its in my 46 L head up on the ranch

If you want to go cheap, Kragen's in Auburn got me the whole thing as a kit (no flywheel) for about a hundred bucks. I just told 'em it was for cj3b and they took it from their. Sure it's just a cheap aftermarket set up, I figured if it lasts a couple of years it's good and I'll prolly change things by then anyway.
