So I've read everything I can about this and I'm ready to do it but I have one question that I couldn't find an answer for.
Currently I'm running and AAL and 2" block for my lift and from what I've been able to find out, I should be able to toss the AAL, 2" block, AND the factory wedge.
But I'm concerned about axle wrap once the AAL is gone. So can someone that's done this upgrade provide some feedback if they have/have not experienced this?

Thanks

BTW - If it matters, I run 36" Swampers and this is not a DD although I do drive it to and from the trail.

I'd keep the AAL. The springs will sag over time. It'll wrap. How bad depends upon your motor and your right foot. You should be able to ditch the factory wedge.

yeah if your worried about axle wrap make the spring perch longer. That will give more surface area on the spring and will help against axle wrap.

I run 38.5's swampers, a 460 and have a huge right foot, I dont have any problems.

And whatever you do dont make the shackle ride straight up and down.

I second that. One wheelin trip will thrash the springs.

Can you elaborate? What will happen to the springs? How should the shackle be?

thanks

Like \ ..............or @ 30-35 degrees if ya like math better.

edit: what will happen to the springs if your shackles are verticl? They'll get pounded to death and so will you.

I didnt notice a ride difference but after a couple trips they were all bent and/or broken. Changing the bushings to ones that move helped also.

this is by far one of the best mods i have made to my bronco< i ordered the kit from the guys at sky manufacturing, the product they sell is awesome and way overbuilt, alot stronger than just fliping the factory mount. The kits looks awesome was easy to install and rides and flexs so much better than stock and i neted around 4.5 inchs of lift.
