I have three Scouts and Series trucks are interesting to me. I have been looking at them and the ex-MOD rigs are cool. I may thin the scout herd and make room for some thing limey. :D :D :D

hey Old Scout, its worth about 7 grand. but i am warning you- unless if you want to get involved with a huge group of people with their heads even farther up their asses than discoweb, i wouldnt get into them. not unless you are going to strip out all of the series specific parts and replace them with american (which would be damn cool), there is no place to get help that wont give you shit for modifying it for anything more than fire roads. they are mostly all purists, and in a community of many thousands, maybe 5 are open minded to extreme modification. this is not an understatement, and fortunately, i am one of those 5 :D

Damm, You guys should come out to Australia we've got these things cut up, swaped and wrecked all over the place.
In our Land Rover club we,ve even got discos that have been cut up. Theres one with 35s and maxi drives (fairly standard), one with a series one body, one with a series 3 body and one with a rangie 2door body, and Im putting a series 2a on a rangie chassis. Out here rangies, discos and series all grow on trees and are worth stuff all. They are way cheaper than jeeps and toyotas and the cheep ones are about comparable to suzukis.

"there is no place to get help that wont give you shit for modifying it for anything more than fire roads"
Untrue. You can ask me :) Seriously though the questions that you have that are rover related the normal places will help you answer (guns and rovers BBS, Eek RN BBS)
otherwise ask on POR.

call Timm
503 236 0101
he is not a purist and he can herlp you build a rover that you can wheel
he may even know of some rigs that you could purchase already built or as a good platform so that you wouldn't need to start with a complete rig
to give you an idea he put his first chevy v-8 in a rover at like age 17 or something
and he currently runs a 350, sm-420, lt-230, eaton rear and salsbury front all spinning 38'stsl sx's
tell him fred sentya
I think the purists are nuts
but to each his own!
