Alright, i finally found an affordable IRS rear-end (i think) but i'm having problems finding more info on it.

i'm looking to find out as much as i can about the rear end in the 89-97 thunderbird (also known as the Lincoln Mark VIII, unsure of the year range)

what i know so far:
-IRS
-8.8"
-3.08:1 is available (anyone have what else was available?)

things i want to know:
-picture
-flange to flange width
-inboard/outboard brakes
-will the mounting system get in the way of inboard disk brakes?
-flange patern
-input: yoke or flange? (any idea patern/size)
-length from front yoke/flange to rear axle centerline
-overall length
-will it take standard 8.8" hardware (ie: Lunch-box locker and eventualy ARB)
-can it take a reverse cut gear-set? (brand/price)

oh yeah, and anyone have one or two laying arround?

From what I have read on it, the stock gears varried from 2.75's to 3.27's, and take the same ring and pinion as any other LP 8.8 They also used them in mercury cougars for a ferw years, IIRC they all use the 28 spline carrier, except the mustang cobra is a 31 spline. I DO know of one person running a high HP cougar that was blowing half shafts, and swapped in the larger cobra units.

A friend has one in his garage out of the 93 T-bird I grabbed the motor out of, everything is there all bolted together but it's in WA. I will see about some measurement info.

The standard T-birds were 7.5s the super coop and the
v-8s had the 8.8s as well as the Lincoln. Also the year range is 89-96 on the T-bird im not sure about the lincoln.
