: cutting stock tj front coils

I am building a 4link for the rear of my jeep, and am running 39.5" iroks. I have the jeep on jackstands at how high I want it to be, and with the way the coil mounts are (right below the framerail at the arch) the jeep will be lifted way too high with stock TJ fronts. I know cutting the springs increases the springrate, but how much would it stiffen the spring up? I would like to run a longer coil spring, but it just doesn't seem like its possible because that is the only place I can mount the coil for the rear susp

Another concern I have is with coil stretching. I am goign to bolt both ends of the spring to the axle and frame so I won't be spitting out coils. Will the shorter stock coil limit travel because it wont be able to stretch enough because its so short?

Proving once again that Jeepers secretly wish they drove Isuzus :flipoff2:
