They screwed up (lucky for you). As I understand it, with transplants, the frame/chassis determines the year /make/registartion of the vehicle. This is a bummer if you are transplating vintage sheet metal onto late model running gear.

I swaped a 1972 tub on to a 1979 frame/engine/trans/tc/axles. There no way that the DMV is going to find the frame VIN#, So :flipoff2: NO smog baby!

It's easier to just swap the VIN plate on a Binder. :flipoff2:
Those Sprout tubs are heavy...:eek: :D
