I know that header manufactures frown upon them, but will using header wraps really cause my LC header to deteriorate? I would like to cutdown on the "pingy" noise of my LC header, and I was thinking that wraps may do the trick. Any input is appreciated.

last around 3years. Your call, I personally like the added sound, and hp's. You will however pick up more hp's by putting the wrap on it. And cooler air in the engine compartment

THE HAEDER WRAP WIL COOL DOWN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT......

BUT THE HEAT NEEDS TO GO SOMEWHERE.......THE HEAT WILL BE HELD IN THE HEAD .......THE HEADERS DISAPATE A LOT OF HEAT ......NOW THEY WILL NOT AND YOU MIGHT RUN INTO OTHER PROBS...........

I would think you would only run into problems in rust prone areas of the country. I have used header wrap in the past (in Arizona, on a drag car that saw 0 street miles) with no bad effects on the headers

yea, but over time, wrapped headers will deteriorate 10x faster. I had mine Jet-Hot coated(looked REAL good), then had the brilliant idea of wrapping them. A year or so later unwrapped to find ruined coating, rust and holes. Never again.
