ok I bought a 85 f-350 for a tow rig and after much debate I decided to swap the TTB front for a 60, mainly cause the 60 and 70 rear have 4.10 and a limited slip and that is a hgue improvement for me, cause the C-6 and 460 liked 2nd to much on some steep grades.
Is this a bolt in swap I am thinking that the crossmenber where teh TTB connects is to big for a 60 to fit under. What else do I need to know. Thanks Jesse

Hmm, I've accomplished the Impossible ! My HP D60
Fits right in the same place the TTB 44 was....The suspension lift prob helped.... Sooo try, lift or you could just build a new lower profile crossmember :p

The conversion is a staight BOLT IN. you will need the panhard bar, and bracket which uses the same holes as your current TTB setup. Make sure the 60 that you have is from an 80-97 ford F-350, you still also need a Ubolt cup for under the pumpkin and a of course the Drag link is different. I popped my D60 out of an 86 F-350 and into my 97 F-250 (which had a D50 TTB gee thats funny it does work hmm) in about 3 hours. you dont need to notch the crossmember just have good springs or a Shackle reversal. which since you're doing this might not be a bad idea

I recommend getting new F350 springs since TTB tends to wear out and reverse arch old springs at 40k miles. Oh yeah if you want it to sit more relative, as the D60 and springs will bounce you up a couple of inches swing into a wrecking yard and get teh later F350 4x4 crewcab/ reg cab rear blocks instead of 2.5 inches they are 4".

Also get your front drive line tube cut by 1-1.5" I did 1.5 for a little more compression and added a longer slip yoke. 1" is all the difference between the D44/50 and Ford D60.

Rotate your steering stabilizer down it will contact the crossmember on full compression if its not done right. Otherwise it fits no problems.

I have a complete truck that the axle is coming out of, its a 87 F-350 I should be able to use all the parts from it. Its a crew cab model thank you for the info. Jesse

I concur, see sig, easy swap, hardest part was moving the D60 around the garage floor.
