I'm in the middle of my buildup ('77 CJ5) and I am at a point where I need to get my MC figured out. I'm running D60's f/r, the front is currently a stock 79 Ford F250 and the rear I converted to disc using caddy calipers. The jeep originally was disc/drum and non boosted. I have a booster/MC setup from a '95 Chevy 1500, I grabbed it when I got the engine because I thought that I could use it but from what I've read, I probably can't. The info that I've gathered is that I should be looking for the corvette MC but all the info that I've seen on that is for a non boosted setup.
Are there any CJ guys out there that converted their non boosted stock rig to boosted with 3/4ton or bigger axles, running 35's+?? What booster and MC are you using? Did you have to redrill mnting holes?? Any clearance issues?
For you CJ guys out there that are just running the MC w/o a booster, any braking issues?
Basically, my main concern is with the booster. I tried using the booster that I have (approx 10.5" dia) but the mnting studs are way off and it will interfere with the hood by about 1/2".
This jeep will be driven on the road so stopping power is important.
thanks
