The Sierra Trek is an event put on by Cal4Wheel in August on the Fordyce Creek Trail. Trail starts at the Indian Springs (the exit just west of Cisco Grove) campground off Hwy 80 and ends at Meadow Lake. It's a great trail with 5 winch hills and several deep water crossings.

Yep, Niagra rim is up on 108 past pinecrest and strawberry. Beautiful area, fairly easy short trail. Closed to snow this time of year a little past strawberry until late spring.

yes, Fordyce is in my back yard!! You can get in west of Cisco grove like they said and you can also go in at Eagle Lakes road. at the end of the trail you go down some dirt roads and it puts you out on Hwy 89 North righ above Truckee.

IfI remember correctly, you go past Strawberry, then there will be a place to view Beardsley Dam on the left (used to be a spot), then there is a right that will take you up there.

Haven't been there for years. Folks have a cabin in Strawbery and we used to run through there all of the time.

Probably about 4 miles out of Strawberry.:D

Yeah, right. Livermore's gotta be nearly 5 hours away. Its in my same county, about 30 minutes from town or 20 minutes from my doorstep (if I take the back way).
