Here is what happened to my stuff! I looks like I cam pretty clost to busting a ball joint! The insert that you see below goes inside the inner knuckle and the upper ball joint passes through it. As you can see it did not like the stress!

Here you can see my short side axle shaft. Both the inner and
outer axle shafts broke. Also look at the 297 ujoint. It did
not have a mark on it! The caps broke causing the shafts to bind
up and break. Next time Im going to weld the caps in place.
I have heard this makes it alot stronger.

Just another pic of the busted axle! DAMN!

Hey Jack,
Have you gotten so good :rasta: and sure-footed that you don't carry a spare tire anymore. :flipoff2:
Or are you just trying to shave weight?

Jack's truck is becoming anorexic :barf: (I guess that's actually bulemic, but you get the point). :D:D:D

Both. When I swapped in the new motor, I remove 200lbs. of junk I haven't used in awhile. I cannot wait to cut the body off. Weight breaks shit.

Where's the pix from Woodpecker:question:

All my pics are too large. I don't have any software to reduce pics. I could e-mail them to someone who can reduce them.

Too cold for the half doors in the morning! I can hear you saying how cold could it be in AZ in January, but 50 for us is freezing. Plus I caved in the passenger side one when I flopped in Tucson on Thanksgiving and haven't had the ambition to re Bondo it and paint it. You may have just given me the inspiration I need Flimmy! I've been looking at a nice Porter Cable electric DA sander for about $120 for a couple weeks. I hate firing up the compressor and air DA for any length of time. For some reason the neighbors hate it??
p.s. I'm running your birfs in my truck right now. If I break one, I'll expect a prompt refund!:flipoff2:

I think the 90 day warranty has expired :flipoff2: . I'm going to build some half doors for my 4runner also. I have 2 extra sets of doors. Did you use the stock latches to hold the door closed ? and do you have any pic's ? So running without doors was warmer. 50 we would be running around in shorts :flipoff2:. We went wheeelin 2 weeks ago in 3" of snow and the high for the day was the mid 20's in the sun plus we were on top of the mountain, so it was alittle colder too. And just tell the neighbors :flipoff2: as long as it's not late at night. If you do break one pm me.:
