It slipped my mind and I never drained the old fuel out of the tank before I poured new stuff in.
I've put appx 10 gallons in the tank and I've got the thing running a few times (5-6 with the old carb which I also didn't drain the fuel from)
But I just put a new filter and different carb on after having it running a few times, and I can't seem to get it running, even though gas IS getting into the carb.
So here's my question: could the old gas still be in the tank? And should I then drain it, or would the new gas dilute it enough NOT to be a problem.
Next question: If the old gas does still exist in the tank (and possibly the lines) could it be gumming up my current carb.
The gas running to the carb seems to be a bit discolored (not the clear/yellow that I'm used to) but it does NOT seem thick in any way.
PS: I don't know exactly how much old gas was in there, but my guess (from listening) is probably less than 1.5 gallons
I wanted to ask these questions before I started to inspect and diagnose any ignition/electrical issues.
