the whole housing is bent?? probably could straighten it..

Just get another EB D44.. disks are easy.. Get the knuckles out of a 78-79 F150, or you can do something with chevy spindles on your knuckles.. didn't read too much into that though.

go to www.classicbroncos.com. In the tech column on the left are write ups on doing the Ford and Chebby disc swaps. If it is a 68 bronco it has a D30, unless somebody has already swapped it. The chebby swap will work on the D30 but not the Ford. Does it have ball joints or king pins? That will tell you.

44's started in the later half of 72. The 44 is a direct bolt in replacement for the 30 however you will need the 44's track bar and the driveshaft. The 30's driveshaft is alittle longer then the 44's and the 44's track bar has more of a bend in it to go around the diff housing. I am getting ready to swap out my 30 with a 44 that I am building with disc's and a locker. can't wait :smokin:

Chevy Disc brake conversion worked great for me...I believe it is still a bit cheaper do to more parts being available in greater supply.

Get 76' chevy 1/2 ton spindles, calipers and caliper brackets/backing plate combine with F150 hub and rotor. Works great. Stock shafts don't stick out the end of the spindle like on a stock Ford EB Disc set up which doesn't allow you to put the small clip on, but you can use a washer and short bolt in the end of the shaft since they are already threaded to act as a clip. Sound booty, but it works fine and a ton of EBers are running it.

I'll hold my comments on the above post. Search the axle tires and wheels section of this board if you haven't already. Do some PM'ing...you'll find one...locally...not sure. I'll sell you mine for 2200.00 4.11, ARB locker, Alloy shafts, Chevy Disc brake, Warm hubs, brand new brakes. All you need is CTM's

If you go with stock 72-77 bronco 44 parts, or 78-79 bronco/F-150 knuckles/spindles, the stock caliper can replaced with the caliper off a 78 T-Bird with a 400. It has the largest piston currently known for a dana44. Well not counting mega expensive ones. :p It is larger than the Chevy calipers, and nobody has found a larger chevy application.

You will need to get new brake lines, the stock ones will not work. The T-Bird calipers use a larger banjo bolt, but you can get the correct lines from BC Broncos, the have ones that will bolt up.
