Have a line on a 89 F350 and want to get some additional information.
When I asked what the drivetrain was, he said it runs good.
here is what it seems to have
efi 460
5spd
aluminum tcase (208?)
RC60
sterling 10.25
can anyone give me specific info about this truck and verify my research so far?

I think it'd have the bw1356 instead of the 208, pretty sure that was only a 1/2 ton x-case
the rest of it looks right though. Don't know schit bout the manual trannies. but I beleive that 5spd would be the ZF..

king pin dana 60, ZF 5 speed, BW 13-56 T-case, sterling 10.25 rear.

Cut the fenders off, slap some 42's on it, and wheel the piss out of it. And yes, the info posted is correct. Sterling rear, ZF (should be) tranny, solid 60 front, etc.

From what I've read the only failures are from the oil pump dying.. They don't die from over-power, but like any non-iron t-case, if you bounce it off a rock it will break the case open..
I'm pretty sure there is a fairly recent post in this forum about it.. Look back about a week or two..

i have an 89 f-350 crew cab. 460 , auto , t-case ?(never actually checked, may go out and do that...) . almost 250,000 miles on clock. i've put about 15k or so since i bought it. damn good truck . mine gets between 9-10mpg which seems good to me , being a 460. i'm not sure what the standars tranny will be. if you can get the vin , you may be able to break it down at www.fordtruckenthusiast.com .
