Today i am putting new pads on the rear of my 90 trooper and am having a few problems. first thing i noticed is the new pads have a piece of metal riveted to the back that was not on the others, other than that thjey look the same and will fit if i grind that piece off, they are much thicker but that is too be expected as mine were quite worn down. My problem is that i cannot get the piston to recede into the caliper to give me enough clearance to put the pad in. I have the caliper off the truck bleeder open and it will nod move in. Couold this have anything to do with the parking brake? This is my first time dealing with rear discsand i don't know how the parking brake assembly works. Any help would be appreciated because i dont want to go buy loaded calipers.

Thanks, Matt
