: Lockers for '96 and newer Ford 8.8 axle?

What lockers will work with a '96 or newer Ford 8.8? Some lockers don't mention anything that new in their ads but I'd sure like to know if I'm going to have to go with a Detroit Softlocker to get a full-case locker. Has anyone heard if the Ox Locker is truly coming out for recent post-'96 Ford 8.8 axles? Rumors say so but they're just rumors!

I have a detroit c-clip soft locker complete carrier style. Works awesome!!! Real soft engaging and disengaging with the occasional load up pop :D Not sure about the OX situation, they're suppost to start making them next.

Jerry, Just go with a full spool. Bulletproof and cheaper than a locker... But then again, I thought you were a tru trac man? :D

I got the C-locker from Detroit and forgot about breaking stuff out back. Full carrier replacement is the best.

I think you can get Detroit, Lock, Right, No Slip, and ARB. Also, there are spools. I have a Lock Right in mine (well, you knew that ;) ) Which works good, but suppoesedly the carrier is the "weak" point. If I ever regear, I will go full carrier.

What about the new Eaton electric locker. Due out in the summer, is this gonna be worth waiting for? From what I can find, you can't use a full spool without doing the c-clip eliminator (which is supposed to be crap). Are there any full spools that work with the c-clips? Also, what's the real scoop on the strength of the stock carrier...is it that weak?

The OX will be out for the 8.8 in March. I received the email back in November I believe, that they will make it.

A March timeframe for an 8.8 Ox Locker? That is awesome, thanks KPJ!!! Thanks for the other answers too.

And Scott, yep I like Truetracs for tires 33" or bigger on a Dana 35c like my early TJ came with (D44s weren't available yet). As most of us will agree, lockers and big tires on a D35c don't cut it. But once the D35c is gone, an Ox Locker is in my future! :D
