Yeah, I would love to wheel my Jeep, just adjusting the budget, as I really have no way to get the Jeep to and from the trails at CLayton and Katemcy which are 4 hr. + rides away. I am trying to aquire another vehicle that is not so built, and pay off some bills, not aquire another one in the form of a tow rig that eats gas, has a serious payment, etc. Its not that the Jeep isnt streetable, but on 40s??? It is also built to handle the more serious trails, and serious trails mean serious breakage!!! (and would have to drive home!) I would consider trades plus cash, it would depend on what the trade was.

More pics, a little dirty and dusty inside (there is no rust, its dirt :D ), and I forgot about the 1 ton master cylinder/booster upgrade, with a vaccum cannister (for when I had a NV4500 in there, and could stall going up a steep incline, in order to provide more braking vaccuum in reserve), and an electronic line lock.

How does this thin run down the highway? Have any major quirks at all? Does the 258 spin those 40's allright?

jslamerman
05-20-2004, 07:12 AM
Let me quote my wife after she drove it "This thing drives better than my Jeep, WTF????" FYI, she has a 2004 TJ Sport, on a 2inch body lift and 33s (pretty street Jeep), 5 spd, and 3.73s. Its got good pep, and itll go hwy speed with the 700r4 (was pretty dicey with the ax15, OD wasnt steep enough, of course that was on 37 as well, now its got a .60 OD, and 40s, so its OK. Its got killer takeoff, a little gutless at like 70, definitely gotta shift outa OD, but all in all, Id say its about a 99.9% perfect mix between hardcore and streetability. It was built that way intentionally. Priorities have just changed!!)

Seeing that you have a 258 mated to a 700R4 slush, do you think an AMC V8 (69 Holley projected AMC 390) would bolt to the adapter alright.

Yeah, but I wouldnt do it. This thing has a great torque curve with all the MPFI junk on it, and custom exhaust. (They share same bolt pattern) I just did the conversion, there are no miles on it (unless I wheel it this weekend, got a lot of tire kickers, no serious parties yet, so.......................................)
Jay
(understand, it has a mean green alternator set up for the six, AGR steering pump setup for the same, hi flow water pump and the MPFI kit, its alot to throw away. I think youd have to start thinkin about a killer alum radiator as well.)

good looking jeep. I guess that guy did not buy it from you like we talked about. (I am the guy in Austin with the Early Bronco) that you talked to. Anyway, if you need to bring price down some more and want to trade my 38's and rockcrawler wheels plus cash for your 40's then let me know.
