to everyone that has made there own bead locks, i have some good info to shoot out here. i made mine out of 3/16 cold rolled steel. the first couple i mounted up worked fine, the third one got over torqued. and it coned pretty bad. some one had come up with the idea to put a fan belt on the inside of the ring so it would be supported when torqueing down the bolts. since i had already bent mine i thought i might as well give it a try. it works great, i loosened the outer ring and inserted a a36 fan belt and torqued it back down. no leaks and it straighted out the bent ring. and the more i look at it the more i like it. it will keep all the mud from getting in the gap between the two, but in hind site i should have used a b size belt to more closely match the swamper thickness. rockstompers are narrower than the ones i made and would need a b size belt like a b 38. just some info later mike
