OK i just spent a while reading through pages of threads and found some conflicting info that I want to try and get straightened out before I do my SOA. I know there are 5, 6, and 7 leaf stock waggy spring sets, and the 44044s which are 2.5" waggy lift springs...

i had assumed that the stock springs all basically gave the same lift (about 1.5-2" over stock height on a YJ) and the 44044s would then give another 2.5" on top of that. But one thread, someone made the comment that their 44044s gave the same height as their previous set of stock 7 leaf JCW springs.

so which really gives which? Yes I know that there are tons of factors that affect this all; amount of tub still left, CJ vs. YJ frame, bumpers, spare tires, etc etc, so I'm really just looking for a good general answer here.

My plan was basically stock waggy spring SOA on 37s... I also have the TJ front flares all around.

Here is mine SOA with 7 leaf HD JC Whitney waggy fronts all around, TJ flares (fronts are now installed) and 36" TSLs. In my opinion, I have too much lift. I think a 38" TSL would be a nice size tire (maybe the 38.5x14.5x15 SX) to fill the wheel well and make use of the room. I am lowering mine, in fact, I am going to try SUA with BDS waggy 4" front lift springs in the rear, and SOA in the front using the main leaf out of a J20/waggy and building the rest of the pack using stock YJ springs. Now, my J20 springs are 2 leafs, 1 main leaf, and one full length leaf - of course, these may not be original. I think the main leaf is original, but this could be a full length add-a-leaf or something else. I will say that the JC Whitney springs gave a ton of lift. It looks like there is about 3-4" lift from them.

ya I had seen your Jeep before; looks great. I agree there's a lot of space between the tires and flares... but I wouldn't want to remove a leaf from the pack and risk it sagging damn quick or anything...

anyone got any other numbers??

I run stock 6 leaf waggys on all four. Plenty of room to run 40's. I do have 5/8" lift boomerang shackle and a 1" BL thought too, and lota trimmin'
