I can no longer, in good conscience, use the board without supporting it. All the free advice, parts, etc..has been fantastic. So I now have the star and thanks to all that have helped knowingly or not. A few pics.

Had to grind the bottom rib off and use 1/4 inch spacers to fit the wheels (donated by deepsouth) notice the need for longer studs

TRW,
Could you enlighten a few of us newbies on your impression of your new 4wheel disk brakes?

Did your cruiser have a brake booster before you switched to disks?

All info is appreciated...Thanks,

thanks for the pics...

Don't mean to hijack, but kindof on topic due to the pictures posted I hope. I notice you are using the oil bath looking air filter on what looks to be a newer 2bbl? carb. I'm considering this and want to know if that adapter/spacer on top of the carb is a bought item or did you fab it? What year engine/carb are you running? Work out ok? thanks for any insight!

Just stock air filter assembly for a 1970 F engine. The carb is a weber 32/36 and it sucks as is. I think idleing with the mixture screw all the way in means it is too rich with the stock jets so I need to rejet it using smaller jets. My advice would be to stay with toy on that. There is a weber adapter that allows me to use the stock filter setup and that can be seen in one of the pics. Costs a good bit I think. I got lucky and picked a truck cheap with the motor on the side which had this carb and adapter already on it. I used it to replace the weber 38 I had been running which was way too rich (and now for sale) and I definitely don't recommend it for an F.

baaaahahaha totally forgot about that pic.

trw and Offroadr1, this weekend there is a huge ride at Grayrock, camping, live band, the works. We all need to consider joining CAOS (Central Alabama Offroad Society) or just starting up our own informal little group.

THe CAOS May Madness ride is open to the public to the best of my knowledge. The cost is $70 for the weekend per truck plus $5 per passenger. There is an additional $25 refundable deposit for those camping. (to be refunded after your camp site is inspected to make sure you clean up after yourself before you leave)

Here are a couple of links with some good info:

Yeah, the track is awesome. A real spectators course which is pretty hard on the riders. More twists than not so the riders don't get much of an opportunity to open it up and relax. Keeps the field tighter and makes for a better race. Back when I did it I was what you call lap traffic. Better than the amatures, but still had a grip on sanity, thus not a leader. This track sucks for those guys. Constantly being worked and and having to concentrate on your backside to let the leaders through.

yup, I met Hal Hall (the president) when I logged into the caos site about 2 years ago and he wondered who the hell was using his club name :D Real nice guy and a avid wheeler, I visited their website and considered joining way back then but didn't think they were "active" as a club since their website was defunct for about 2 years and nobody answered my requests for information.

trw

Same here. I sent emails and tried to get info to no avail. If its active I'd definitely like some info.
