Finished Saturday with 26pt.s and a BIG smile! Much better then the last event....my spotter (BlueOval) and I must have learned a thing or two.
Here's A1:

Cleared A1 with no cones, and A2 we just cruised through.
A3 we dumped it on it's side.

But, we saved it and finished with a -8pt.s.

Finished A4 with a -2 pt.s, and a broken battery disconnect switch (spotter rope got hooked on it).
A5 we started with the wrong line, and ran out of time 20' from the finish. :mad3:

Good day for Wickert Chiropractic Motorsport. Sunday to follow soon.

Looks good.. How did you guys finish for Sunday? The team i was on.. we had 4 pts on saturday and ended up with 40 total for the weekend. We ran b4 with no brakes (that was interesting) and then schooled b5 and b1. Took the bonus line on b1 where you then had to cross that big nasty crevis.. things were going great but hit the very last cone on the drop off. I was spotting for Dave knox

That left line was hairy up that crack.. but we made it up it with one back.. we were lined up to take the 2nd bonus but chose not too (my fault) and we ended up taking the last cone out when the top of the cage grabbed it.

Sunday we picked up an additional 64pt.s.
We started on B4, and got -2pt.s.
I got crazy on B5, and thought I was going straight to the top and ended up on my lid. :shaking: 39pt.s for B5.
-10pt.s for B1.
B2 we didn't even try the bonus, and caught the last cone with our left rear tire (trying to get a -2 with no strap). 11pt.s for B2.
I was the last to run B3, and it was torn up really bad. The lower cone was impossible without rear steer. Took the last cone intentionally, while accelerating down the hill, and finished with one extra second! :grinpimp:

My spotter had to get home, so we left. I have no idea where I finished.

Wasnt impossible, but almost.. We watched 3 out of the 6 rigs in our group hit the cone.. then someone got smart.. took almost everyone 2-3 minutes just to get past it without hitting it. All it really took was a rear burn in rear wheel drive, and a few well placed rocks to make the rear end kick over. It did put you at a nasty side angle to miss them.. Honestly i think that cone was probably one of the trickyest to get around of the weekend

KingOf_Pain

We did the rear burn, and stacked a few well placed rocks, but because the bottom was filed with boulders I couldn't sidehill as much as I needed. My rear track width is 78", so I should say it was nearly impossible for someone running that wide. We just barely hit it.

BTW, post a pic so I know who you (Imkunfused) guys were. I'm guessing the all black buggy with rear trac bar, and the guys were wearing green/black shirts like Team Hall???

Nope.. that was troy muse.. we were wearing the yellow, white and black shirts.. Ill see if i can find a pic..

Sure, remind me how I screwed up by not going down that bonus. Our lack of experience really showed on that course!

I'm amazed how low the hood is on that buggy. Pretty sweet. I was looking for more pictures, but I guess your limited to one per event.

You've got more competiting experience than i do, and more seat time in your rig than Dave :flipoff2: :flipoff2: but ive been around comps for over 2 years now.. so i picked up on a few things

You going to the next comp?

And yeah.. the hood is pretty low.. we have great visibility.. but man its small inside.. Dave's lucky he's a small guy.. Im 6' 215lbs and i fit.. but just barely.. I sure couldnt drive a comp in it tho

Thanks for the videos, pretty sweet. Nice driving in the first three videos. Hard to say because I was not there but I think a slower approach in the last one would have been beneficial.

Glad you guys liked the video's. I had no idea my buggy snapped that huge rock in two, at the end of A1.

Imkunfused,
You going to the next comp?
Yup, I'm doing all 4 of the CalROC series events.
If this was your guys first event in a new buggy, your way ahead of me! Congrats.

SuperRanger,
Your probably right. I think we should have backed through it myself.

Hey Big Rich, the fellow is supposed to hook up with you this weekend. Thanks, I owe you dinner some time! :D
