View Full Version : Vac Disco Waggy 44 - Is this it?
I am pursuing a '83 waggy 44 and this axle does NOT appear to have the vac disco that I have seen in my searches. However, since I am no expert on this matter, i seek your knowledge.
SO.... is this the vac disco axle? The line outa the pumpkin appears to me to be just the vent tube.... but what the hell do i know....

Doesnt look like a Vac D44. A better pic would confirm everything. If the diff cover looks like a regular old D44 cover than it is NOT a vac diff. If the cover is bigger on one side with a large vaccum diaphram threaded into it then it is vaccum operated.
Thanks RockSlut, you confirmed what I have seen elsewhere. I also took the obvious route (based on your input) and have requested a pic of the diff cover just to put my mind at ease. Unless anyone else chimes in and believes these to be vac-disco axles, im gunna pick em up.
That's definitely not a vacuum disco. The line is just the vent. Here's a photo of vac. disco.

Are you looking for a Vac 44? or did i miss something?
If your looking for the Vac I've got one I'll sell ya, cheap, but I think you need to ask yourself why? What you want is the one in the pics you posted up, not the ones like CSP posted up.
Nope WoodyWag, I am confirming that the axle I am picking up is NOT the disco axle, i dont want the disco.
Thanks all for pointing me in the right direction.

what would this d44 cost in your area? I just bought one from a guy that wheels with our group, I think I got a great deal, I paid $50 for the 44 and the matching model 20 but I have to regear, mine has 2.73 gears
